For over fifty five years, Deer Valley Ranch has been the perfect location for family vacations in the majestic Colorado Mountains. Our “dude” and guest ranch provides all the western activities that you have in mind when thinking of a week “out west”. We are surrounded by Mt. Antero at 14,269 feet, Mt. Princeton at 14,197 feet and the beautiful backdrop of the famous Chalk Cliffs.
The Deer Valley Ranch staff and owners are committed to serving you with our hearts as well as our hands. As guests on our family dude ranch, you are more than clients; you are a part of our home. For three generations our family has welcomed families, singles, couples, and single parents to a place where all are welcome, and all make lifetime memories. Our “no alcohol” policy helps ensure our family atmosphere.Deer Valley Ranch has always been a leader in offering a variety of activities for everyone on the ranch: adults, teens, and children. Three activities that can be enjoyed by all ages at various levels are horseback riding, hiking and fishing.
Horseback Riding
Not only is Deer Valley Ranch a guest ranch, but it also a dude ranch. On your ride, anticipate simple pleasures…just you and your horse, the smell of leather, the scent of pine, wading through a stream, topping a rise to gaze at a wildflower-filled meadow…it doesn’t get much better than this.
Hiking
Here at Deer Valley Ranch, we are surrounded by beautiful mountain country…God’s country…and we’re glad to walk you through it. From an easy, downhill hike with majestic views up the valley to a challenging climb up a 14,000’ mountain with the rest of the peaks spread out beneath you, you’ll return amazed and so glad you “did it”. |

Fishing
From watching your child catch his or her first ever fish at our serene stocked fishing lake to serious “angling” i.e. fly-fishing on a winding bend of Chalk Creek or the South Platte River, your fishing experience in our Colorado mountain streams, rivers and lakes will be well-taught (by us) and exceptionally enjoyed (by you).

Other outdoor adventures while at our Colorado dude ranch include whitewater rafting – an exhilarating half day trip on the Arkansas River, a breathtaking stretch of white water, perfect for families, tennis – borrow our high altitude balls, golf – two well-groomed courses with exceptional mountain views, and special outdoor meals – don’t miss our Wrangler’s Breakfast, complete with music and coffee out of a tin mug.Sure, you can relax on the massive lodge deck, or down at our hot springs pools, but get ready for a lot of action. Our fifty member staff is here to care for your accommodations, prepare your meals, take you on rides and hikes, spend time with your children and teens, and make you feel cared for in every way.
As “Colorado’s Christian Family Guest Ranch”, the emphasis is truly on a Colorado family ranch vacation, whether your family consists of a couple, a single parent and children, a couple with children or a large family reunion including Grandma and Grandpa and four generations. Singles also enjoy a Colorado vacation with us, as they soon find themselves embraced and “adopted” by the Deer Valley Ranch staff, family and guests.
