Adventures at Deer Valley Ranch allow every member of your family to find their perfect Colorado experience. Our Adventures are also open to guests who are not staying overnight at the Ranch.
Our Adventures are all managed and guided by professional guides here at Deer Valley Ranch, or by partnered organizations within the Arkansas River Valley. Our goal with these amazing experiences is to facilitate exceptional family time – whether it’s via horseback, mountain bike, raft, or hike.
Please note that many Adventures are bookable in certain seasons and are dependent upon staff availability and weather/terrain conditions.

Horseback riding at Deer Valley Ranch is unique and unlike any other barn in Colorado! We can concierge rides for all experience levels, such as 1-hour Trail Ride, perfect for kids and grandparents, 2-hour Adventure Ride, Full Day Rocky Mountain Trail Ride, Waterfall Trail Ride and Rocky Mountain Sunset Ride. We also can schedule a 1-hour Wagon Ride for your group viewing the stunning Chalk Cliffs.
Riding begins in early-June and goes until mid-August!
Start your morning with a horseback ride, wagon ride, or walk to breakfast. At this Deer Valley Ranch classic meal, you’ll enjoy scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, breakfast potatoes, biscuits with jam and butter, & fresh fruit. Complete your meal with mouthwatering cinnamon rolls with coffee or hot chocolate or juice.
Wrangler’s Breakfasts run June-Aug 4th on select days.
Gather around the fire pit and listen to Big Dave give a history talk about the Ranch and surrounding Nathrop. With his 41+ years at Deer Valley Ranch, Big Dave tells stories from a first-hand perspective. You might even see him gussied up in his mountain man buckskins.
