Fall & Winter

Gorgeous Indian Summer days...hike to a remote high mountain lake.

While Summer is our time of full schedule and a multitude of activities, the off season at Deer Valley Ranch can be a special time. Because of our location and our unique facilities, there are many ways to enjoy the ranch at a deeply discounted rate. Our Colorado mountain cabins provide a comfortable, peaceful and relaxing venue for your personal “get-away-from-it-all” retreat.

Fall
September, October and early November are beautiful months in the mountains. Rent one of our two, three or four bedroom cabins and enjoy the quiet of the Colorado Mountains. Spend the day fishing Chalk Creek or the Arkansas River. Take a hike up Grizzly Creek into the fall colors or just enjoy a cup of coffee on your cabin deck.
"Thank you for helping our family have
one of the best Christmases of our lives!
Deer Valley Ranch was an answer to prayer.
The cabin was wonderful, the splendor of the Chalk Cliffs and the surrounding mountains were perfect and feeding mule deer out of our hands was incredible!"

~ The Browns from Gilmer, Texas

Winter
From Thanksgiving into April, our cottages at Deer Valley Ranch provide you with the perfect venue for snow-capped mountain tranquility. Spend the day cross-country skiing in the upper Chalk Creek Basin above the ghost town of St. Elmo. Or, drive 45 minutes to Monarch Ski Area for some of Colorado's finest snow and downhill skiing. Your cabin has a full kitchen, so you can keep the cost of a ski trip to a minimum by dining "at home" in front of a roaring fire.

Remote, cozy cabins in a winter wonderland. Relax in hot springs pools at the end of a day of skiing. Ski groups love Deer Valley's cabins after a day on the slopes.

Hot Springs
From the end of August to the end of May, we offer our off-season guests discounted pool passes to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort, one mile east of the ranch.  The Hot Springs at Mt. Princeton offers a 100 degree soaking pool and a 90 degree lap pool. For a more unique experience, head down to the creek itself and find your favorite creekside pool among the rocks.
